Edit tasks and process properties

Edit running process properties

You can change process settings after a process is running. Open the process and click Settings - no need to start over.

How do I access process settings?

  1. Open the running process from the Tracker view.
  2. Click the Settings button (gear icon) in the top-right corner. Active process configuration panel view view
  3. The settings panel opens on the Summary tab.

What can I edit in the settings panel?

The Summary tab lets you change:

  • Process Name - click the name at the top and type a new one. Hit Enter to save.
  • Process Owner - click the pencil icon next to the owner’s name to reassign. Process owner reassignment dropdown menu with user list
  • Process Notes - add context about this specific run using the rich text editor.

The panel also shows read-only info:

  • Tasks completed count, creator, and start date
  • The original template description
  • Answers from the kick-off form

Tags and folders for a process are managed from the process card in the Tracker view, not from this settings panel.

What other process actions are available?

You can Export CSV to download all process data. The settings panel also has Permissions and Activity tabs.

Edit Processes > Rename a process

Tallyfy lets you rename any running process at any time by clicking its name at the top of the process view and typing a new name up to 300 characters long.

Processes > Edit processes

Tallyfy lets you modify any running process independently from its original template by adding new tasks and reassigning existing ones and adjusting due dates and renaming or archiving the instance while keeping the master template completely unchanged.

Edit Templates > Rename a template

Rename a Tallyfy template through the Settings panel or by clicking the pencil icon next to the template name in Edit view - changes only apply to new processes.

Tracking And Tasks > An overview of processes

In Tallyfy a process is a live running instance of a template that you launch and track daily where each process captures a snapshot of its template at launch time and can be uniquely named or auto-named while allowing extra tasks to be added on the fly and then archived or restored after completion.
