The Tallyfy desktop app wraps the same web application you already use - so all features work the same - but adds desktop benefits like native notifications and system tray access.
Why use the desktop app?

Download the .dmg file for your Mac (Intel or Apple Silicon)
Open the DMG and drag the Tallyfy icon to your Applications folder
On first launch, right-click the app and select Open to bypass Gatekeeper (the app isn’t notarized yet)
If you see a “damaged” error, open Terminal and run: xattr -cr /Applications/Tallyfy.app

Download the .exe installer
Run the installer and follow the prompts
On first launch, Windows SmartScreen may show a warning - click More info then Run anyway
The app appears in your Start menu
Linux
Linux builds aren’t currently available. Contact support if you need Linux support.

Signing in
On first launch, the app automatically tries to import your existing login from Chrome. If you’re already signed into Google or Microsoft in Chrome, you may be logged into Tallyfy right away.
If automatic login doesn’t work:
Click any sign-in option (Google, Microsoft, email)
Complete the authentication flow - it opens in your system browser
Return to the desktop app after signing in
Troubleshooting
macOS shows “app is damaged” error
This happens because the app isn’t notarized yet. Fix it by running:

xattr-cr/Applications/Tallyfy.app
Windows SmartScreen warning
Click More info then Run anyway. This warning appears because the app doesn’t have an extended validation certificate yet.
Not logged in automatically
Chrome cookie import requires access to Chrome’s Safe Storage. On macOS, you’ll be prompted to allow Keychain access - click Allow to enable automatic login.
App won’t start
Make sure you have the correct version for your system architecture (Intel vs Apple Silicon on Mac, 64-bit vs 32-bit on Windows).
Tallyfy runs on any device with a modern browser as a responsive web app requiring no installation and it also offers an optional desktop app for macOS Windows and Linux with native notifications and system tray integration for users who want enhanced productivity.
Tallyfy lets you sign up with email or through Microsoft/Google accounts to create or join an organization workspace and includes a guided welcome task along with support options and troubleshooting steps for common authentication issues like Microsoft admin approval requirements.
Tallyfy includes a built-in user guide accessible either by clicking the ? icon in the left sidebar to search help articles and message support or by selecting Help and FAQs from your profile menu to open the full documentation site in a new tab.
Tallyfy integrates with Google Workspace through SAML-based Single Sign-On by creating a custom SAML app in the Google Admin console and exchanging configuration details (SSO URL and Entity ID and certificate) with Tallyfy Support so users authenticate with Google credentials and new accounts are automatically provisioned on first login.
