Add guidance text to a step

Adding guidance text to form fields

Guidance text appears directly below a form field label in Tallyfy, giving people instructions right where they need them. It’s great for specifying formats, examples, or links to extra resources.

  1. Open the template in Edit mode.
  2. Click the step that contains the form field.
  3. Go to the Form Fields tab in the step details panel.
  4. Click the form field to expand its settings.
  5. Expand the More Settings section.
  6. Enter your instructions in the Guidance Text field. This is a rich-text editor, so you can format text and add links.
  7. Changes save automatically.

When someone runs the process, your guidance text appears in italics below the field label. Any URLs you include become clickable automatically.

Edit Processes > Add process notes

Process notes in Tallyfy let you attach rich text context to any running process and that information automatically appears on every task so all participants stay aligned without hunting through emails or chat threads.

Documents > Add fields to documents

Tallyfy’s document templates let you insert editable short text, long text, and date fields into otherwise locked content so that anyone launching the template only fills in the blanks once and every instance comes out consistent.

Edit Templates > Edit steps

Tallyfy lets you edit template steps by adding new ones or modifying existing step details including descriptions with rich media and assignments to specific people or groups or guests along with step types and form fields and deadlines set relative to launch or other steps and advanced settings like webhooks and mandatory flags and auto-assignment rules.
